spirituality

Manitou Arbor Ecovillage is an Inclusive Spiritual Community.

We are group of individuals
with diverse beliefs. We all recognize, albeit in different ways, a higher Spirit, or purpose, within the circle of life. By valueing and promoting tolerance of each individual’s personal spirituality, we hope to encourage the sharing and celebration of different spiritual, religious, and cultural traditions.

We believe that it is only when we learn to accept the sacred space of other’s lives that we can truly live closer together in a cooperative, healthy environment.

The Spiritual Basis of our Community

We acknowledge
our spiritual bond to each other and all life, and we hope to express, in the way we live, a deep sense of the sacred in all things.

We hope to demonstrate
that sense in our work, play, free inquiry, multicultural expression, spiritual practice, and celebration of life.

Our Guiding Principles

The concept of Manitou involves the inter-relationship of humanity and nature, spirit and matter, the individual and the cosmos. Wisdom, love, respect, bravery, honesty, humility, and truth--these are the principles we will use to guide us in caring for the Earth and each other.

The whole of existance is greater than the sum of its parts, and spiritual growth is essential to a meaningful life. We seek to live with a sense of the sacred, believing that all life and all people are invested with inherent value and dignity.

In reconnecting with the natural world,
we hope to connect more deeply with that which is larger than ourselves.

The foundation of MAEV is expressed in detail in our covenant. You can read it here.
