Are you looking for a way to become engaged today in creating a more sustainable tomorrow?
Friends of Manitou Arbor Ecovillage share similar goals. We have been working diligently for more than eight years to create a model sustainable residential community in southwest Michigan. Our work has entailed exploring sustainable design approaches and forming a supportive human community that seeks to model a way of living in greater harmony with each other and the natural world.
We have made a great deal of progress toward making this project a reality. Members have supported these efforts through financial contributions and pledges of $160,000 to date. In our current phase of planning, total pre-construction costs require an additional $100,000. This is why we hope that people like you, who have an interest in the quality of our environment and in sustainability, will consider helping us become a model sustainable residential community.
Your contribution will be used directly for pre-construction costs. Under IRS rules, Manitou Arbor Ecovillage, although not-for-profit, is unable to become a tax-exempt development—therefore you would not be able to get a tax deduction or credit for your donation. However, seeing a project like Manitou Arbor Ecovillage become a reality would be a genuine acknowledgement of your commitment and contribution to our environment and to future generations.
