Our Vision of Neighborliness and Right Living

We have faith that our community members will come together to live harmoniously and neighbor respectfully. We have designed our community building and other shared spaces to help promote our getting together and knowing and caring about one another.

In decision making,
we will also care. The governance of our village will require leadership, but also consensus from the members of our community. That will be true democracy: everyone heard; each taken into account.

We envision a community
that learns, works at, and teaches the skills and technologies of a viable village culture. Education, of our village community and the wider community beyond, is one of our priorities. Outreach to help others incorporate what our village has learned is a key element in our goal to become a resource of knowledge about "what works," and a source of inspiration for others to try.

Within our village grounds,
we will encourage, as we are able, the creation of cottage industries by residents hoping to integrate the facets of their lives around their home and ours, the Ecovillage.

As we get to know each other, as we volunteer for small ecovillage tasks--such as in governance, or on committees, or just by helping someone with their recycleables--or as we participate in someone's birthday celebration, or the land's spring birthday celebration, we will begin to know, and care, and become community.

Then we will expand our caring to beyond our village, to the land, our guests, and our region, and it all.

When we are caring for all,
all else comes easily into harmony, and we will be One Earth again.
